These are high value-added products used in the lithium-ion battery industry and other high-tech sectors.
At the meeting, Vinacomin chairman Ngo Hoang Ngan emphasized the strong and long-standing partnership between the two groups, which began in 2017 when Vinacomin launched an alumina production plant.
Daejoo KC has been a strategic partner, consistently fulfilling purchase contracts for hydrate and alumina from Vinacomin, with annual volumes ranging from 60,000 to 110,000 tons.
This partnership has played a crucial role in helping Vinacomin maintain stable production, even during challenging market conditions, he noted.
Daejoo KC chairman Joo Bong Park said his group currently owns advanced technology and a large market share, supplying raw materials to most battery manufacturers in South Korea.
He expressed his hope that Vinacomin would continue to strengthen and promote the partnership, and looked forward to strategic developments between the two groups that would contribute to the growing economic ties between Vietnam and South Korea.
Ngan reaffirmed his group’s commitment to creating favorable conditions for enterprises from both countries to cooperate and grow in line with its sustainable development strategy and global integration goals.
This meeting helped solidify the long-term partnership between Vinacomin and Daejoo KC while opening up new opportunities for collaboration in deep-processing projects involving alumina and hydrate, aiming to enhance product value, improve business efficiency, and contribute positively to the development of both countries' industries.
As part of the visit, on Tuesday, Ngan will attend the Vietnam-Korea Economic Forum, a key event within the state visit of Vietnam’s Party General Secretary To Lam to South Korea.
