Companies spanning real estate, tourism, consumer goods, energy, shipping, retail, and manufacturing either posted record quarterly profits or achieved their best-ever first-half results, with many already completing a substantial portion of their full-year earnings targets.
Real estate developer Vinhomes (HoSE: VHM), a subsidiary of conglomerate Vingroup, delivered the standout performance of the reporting season.
Its Q2 after-tax profit attributable to shareholders jumped more than threefold from a year earlier to nearly VND26.5 trillion ($1.01 billion), supported by a sharp increase in revenue recognized from residential project handovers and stronger gross margins.
For the first six months of 2026, the company’s net revenue surged 243% year-on-year to VND116.6 trillion ($4.44 billion), while after-tax profit reached a record VND52.1 trillion ($1.98 billion), almost 4.8 times higher than the same period last year. It has already achieved nearly 87% of its full-year profit target.
Hospitality operator Vinpearl (HoSE: VPL), another member of Vingroup, also posted its strongest quarterly performance on record.
Q2 revenue increased 13% to VND3.31 trillion ($126.02 million), while after-tax profit climbed 3.8 times to VND632 billion ($24.06 million), marking the company's highest quarterly earnings since its establishment.
During H1, the firm’s revenue rose nearly 15% to VND6.79 trillion, while after-tax profit exceeded VND2.14 trillion, more than eight times higher than a year earlier.
The company has completed about 43% and 71% of its revenue and profit goals for 2026, respectively.
Consumer conglomerate Masan Group (HoSE: MSN) reported the highest quarterly profit in its history. Q2 consolidated revenue increased more than 54% to VND28.1 trillion ($1.07 billion), while after-tax profit more than doubled to nearly VND3.8 trillion ($144.67 million), supported by stronger operating performance and improved profitability.
Following the results, the company raised its full-year targets to VND98-105 trillion in revenue and VND10-11.5 trillion in after-tax profit.
State-controlled power producer PV Power (HoSE: POW) also delivered record results. Quarterly revenue more than doubled to VND20.3 trillion ($772.93 million), while after-tax profit increased nearly fivefold to VND3.71 trillion ($141.26 million).
First-half after-tax profit reached VND5.01 trillion, more than four times higher than a year earlier and the strongest six-month performance since the company's equitization.
Oil and gas shipping company PVTrans (HoSE: PVT) likewise reported record earnings, with Q2 after-tax profit rising 88% year-on-year to VND678 billion ($25.82 million). Its H1 profit climbed 67% to VND1.07 trillion ($40.74 million), the highest level in the company's history.
Retailer FPT Retail (HoSE: FRT), a subsidiary of tech giant FPT, maintained its rapid expansion as Q2 revenue rose 37% year-on-year to VND15.6 trillion ($593.98 million). Its after-tax profit reached VND451 billion ($17.17 million), almost three times higher than a year earlier.
For the first half, the company’s revenue increased 33% while pre-tax profit doubled, allowing the company to complete 52% of its annual revenue target and 67% of its profit target. Both revenue and earnings reached record levels.
Dairy giant Vinamilk also posted its highest-ever quarterly net profit in Q2, with earnings rising 28% year-on-year to nearly VND3.19 trillion ($121.46 million). For H1, its revenue increased 18% to VND35.03 trillion ($1.33 billion) while after-tax profit reached VND5.64 trillion ($214.75 million), up 38% year-on-year.
For 2026, Vinamilk has set a target of VND66.48 trillion ($2.53 billion) in consolidated revenue and VND9.83 trillion ($374.28 million) in after-tax profit. Based on its first-half performance, the company has achieved nearly 53% and more than 57% of the year's revenue and profit targets, respectively.
Among industrial manufacturers, Binh Minh Plastics (HoSE: BMP) posted the highest quarterly profit in its history despite largely flat revenue growth. Q2 revenue remained broadly unchanged at VND1.32 trillion ($50.26 million), while disciplined cost management helped lift after-tax profit 11% to VND367 billion ($13.97 million). Gross margin remained strong at 46.7%, underscoring the company's ability to sustain profitability despite a challenging operating environment.
In H1, its revenue increased 3% year-on-year to VND2.78 trillion ($105.85 million), while after-tax profit rose 9% to VND671 billion ($25.55 million).
