At a working session with Construction Corporation No.1 (CC1) on Tuesday, Ha laid stress on the project’s significance to completing the region’s transport infrastructure network, stating that Dong Nai targets putting the bridge into operation in 2028.
The 4.7-kilometer bridge, part of a 11.6 km route, is designed for speeds of up to 80 km per hour, with eight lanes across 33.5 meter-wide deck and a clearance height of over 55 m. Its starting point will be on Nguyen Thi Dinh street while the ending point will connect with the Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway.
CC1 proposed developing the bridge under public-private partnership structure, favoring a state-funded build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract or build-transfer (BT) one. Other options are stated-funded BT and land-swap BT.
In addition to Cat Lai bridge, CC1 also proposed investing nearly VND11 trillion in 11.7 km Long Hung bridge linking Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3 in Long Phuoc ward with Dong Nai province’s An Phuoc commune.
