VOV.VN - A high-level bilateral meeting was held recently in Hanoi between the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the Bank of Thailand (BOT), aiming to promote banking and financial co-operation between the two countries.

At the conference, both sides agreed on a cooperative plan under the framework of the upcoming ASEAN Year 2020 towards stronger cooperation in the banking sector to ensure macroeconomic stability, promote financial inclusion, as well as enhancing banking integration, cyber security, ASEAN payment connectivity, and sustainable financial development.

Following the conclusion of the bilateral meeting, SBV Governor Le Minh Hung and BOT Governor Veerathai Santiprabhob signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation and Exchange of Information in Banking Supervision and a MOU on Cooperation in the Area of Financial Innovation.

The relevant departments of both central banks also held  technical meetings regarding bilateral co-operation and shared their experience in the fields of payment, fintech, and QR code.
