The Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) aims to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese specific skilled workers to intern and work in the Far East nation’s hospitality and hotel service sector and set up a co-operation framework in this regard in the coming time.
Upon addressing the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Le Tan Dung emphasised that the implementation of the labour program agreed in the MoC will open a range of employment opportunities for skilled Vietnamese workers in this field. Furthermore, MoC will link the domestic labour market to the international labour market as well as help Japan resolve shortages it faces in human resources in a number of key economic sectors.
Moreover, the MoC will serve as a driving force to further promote exchanges and co-operation, especially in the field of labour co-operation, vocational training, and technology transfer, between the two countries.
Previously, the Vietnam Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs joined with four ministries and agencies from Japan to sign a MoC outlining the fundamental legal framework in which to properly implement Japan’s "specific skilled workers" program.
According to the Department of Overseas Labour Management, there are currently nearly 200,000 Vietnamese interns in Japan. Simultaneously, Vietnam also dispatches thousands of technicians to Japan under the category of technical workers annually.
