Nguyen Tien Thanh, chairman cum general director, and other leaders of VEPH, attended the meeting in Hanoi, while Pelangi was represented by CEO Sum Lih Kang and editor-in-chief Poh Swee Hiang.
Thanh welcomed the Pelangi delegation and briefed VEPH’s history, organizational structure, and development strategy. Pelangi’s CEO introduced the group’s key publications and its growing portfolio of digital products widely used in Malaysia’s education sector.
During the discussions, both sides exchanged experience in developing e-books, balancing print and digital content, integrated education solutions, and the use of artificial intelligence in teaching and management.
Thanh thanked Pelangi for sharing its expertise and expressed interest in advancing concrete cooperation initiatives. Pelangi also invited VEPH to attend the 2026 International Publishing Convention in Malaysia.
Founded in 1979, Pelangi is one of Malaysia’s leading educational publishers, with 41,000 published titles and annual print output of around 11 million copies. The group serves some 13,000 schools and five million users.
Pelangi provides curriculum-based educational content for national and international programs, covering early childhood education, ELT, mathematics, science, coding/AI, English, and Mandarin.
The group is also expanding digital offerings including interactive e-books, online learning systems, AR-enabled applications, children’s e-library services, and the Awan AI learning chatbot.
