As of the end of September, Vietnam's exports to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reached US$4.31 billion, marking a significant 43.67% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This represents a US$1.31 billion surge in export value.
The largest export category from Vietnam to this Middle Eastern market was phones and components, with a value of US$2.54 billion, reflecting a 56.85% year-on-year increase.
Additionally, numerous other product categories achieved export values ranging from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of dollars. Notable examples include computers, electronics, and components at US$357 million; machinery, equipment, tools, and parts at US$380 million; and various types of footwear at US$151.2 million.
Conversely, Vietnam's imports from the UAE at the end of September reached US$653.46 million, a 21% increase compared to the same period last year, equivalent to a growth of nearly US$114 million.
Three major import categories from the UAE exceeded a hundred million dollars at the end of September: other petroleum products at US$252.77 million; liquefied natural gas at US$187.2 million; and primary plastics at US$128.38 million.
In summary, Vietnam-UAE trade reached nearly US$5 billion by the end of September, with Vietnam recording a trade surplus of almost US$3.66 billion."
