UNICEF Representative in Viet Nam Rana Flowers said Viet Nam will receive 1,910 large-scale vaccine refrigerators by the end of July.

The news was released by Flowers at her working session with Vietnamese Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long on June 9.
The refrigerators, procured by UNICEF, are the first part of the cold chain support package funded by the Government of Australia.
Flowers also said the UNICEF has procured five refrigerated trucks for COVID-19 vaccines transportation, which are expected to arrive in Viet Nam in August and September this year.
In addition, the UNICEF will ship five million syringes to Viet Nam soon, Flowers added.
She welcomed Viet Nam’s establishment of the COVID-19 vaccine fund as well as the efforts by the Government and the Ministry of Health of Viet Nam in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
For his side, Minister Nguyen expected that the UNICEF will accelerate vaccine delivery to Viet Nam via the COVAX facility.
Up to now, the UNICEF has delivered 2,493,600 COVID-19 vaccine doses out of the total 2.9 million doses received by Viet Nam so far.
The Government planned to acquire 150 million vaccine doses to cover 70 percent of the country’s population./.
