Viet Nam confirmed five new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the national patient tally to 5,857.

All new COVID-19 patients recorded from April 1, 2021 are imported cases
The latest cases include four Vietnamese who were brought home from Japan (two), Germany (one), and Russia (one), according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
The other patient is a staff working at a hotel which has been designated as a quarantine site for Indian experts after arriving in Viet Nam, said the National Steering Committee led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.
Among the national caseload, 2,516 have been cleared of the virus and exited hospitals while 35 others have been reported dead.
As the COVID-19 pandemic has evolved complicatedly in the region and the world, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on authorities and individuals to sustain vigilance and uphold the sense of responsibility while he was chairing a meeting on COVID-19 response on Monday.
The Government chief warned of a high risk of potential resurgence of COVID-19 as precautious measures have not always been implemented seriously.
He ordered heads of ministries, agencies and local authorities at all levels shall direct regular updates of the domestic and international pandemic developments in order to design proper response measures and scenarios, in which responsibilities of each organization and individual must be clarified.
For individuals: Seriously implement the 5K (in Vietnamese) message, especially mask wearing. For agencies, units and organizations, strictly abide by the regulations on COVID-19 safety protocols, regularly self-assess pandemic prevention and control requirements and measures and update self-assessment results on the anti-pandemic map system.
Competent authorities shall have to strictly fine organizations and individuals that violate related laws, PM Pham said./.
