Under this fifteen-year power purchase agreement signed at the UACV factory in Danang Hi-Tech Park, ACC Vietnam will provide UACV with a turnkey clean energy solution powered by a 4.3MWp rooftop solar (PV) system.

The PV system is designed and built to meet the highest safety standards in a region that is hit every year by heavy storms and typhoons. With 7,172 modules installed, the system will generate 5,906MWh and avoid 4,800 tons of CO₂ annually, helping UACV offset 27 per cent of its current annual power demand.

On December 16, the commencement ceremony for this project was also held at the UACV factory. It was witnessed by board representatives from Danang Hi-Tech Park Management, the American Chamber of Commerce, the Danang and Vietnam ESG committee, DINCO Engineering & Construction Corporation, and notable leaders from progressive Danang-based enterprises.

At the ceremony, Truong Hoang Nguyen, general director of UACV stated, “At Universal Alloy Corporation Vietnam, we have a vision of achieving net-zero emissions by 2035. Installing the rooftop solar PV system is one of the first major steps that we are implementing in Vietnam to realise this vision. We want to operate with zero CO₂ generation."

The decision to transition to clean energy proves UACV Management Board’s determination to act against climate change and lead the way for greener manufacturing in the aerospace industry. This is also the message that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered during his visit to UACV utilities back in June this year.

Established in 2019, Universal Alloy Corporation Vietnam manufactures and exports aircraft components to North America and Europe. These totalled $11 million in 2021 and $35 million in 2022. The company expects to reach $60 million in 2026 and $90 million in 2028.
