VOV.VN - The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) has recently requested the departments of culture, sports and tourism nationwide to actively respond to the implementation of environmental protection activities and deal with plastic waste.

The VNAT’s request comes as a response to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s call for unity in order to work together towards a safe and clean environment for the nation.

In response to this call, the VNAT has requested that departments across the country urge accommodation establishments and tourism sites to deal with issues surrounding plastic waste.

Possible actions include limiting the use of nylon bags and single-use plastic products, classifying, collecting, and recycling plastic waste under existing regulations, as well as promoting the use of environmentally friendly products.

In addition to the call, the VNAT has also asked departments to follow the instructions issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to increase environmental protection activities, as well as limiting the use of nylon bags, single-use straws, and cups at accommodation establishments and tourist sites.
