VGP – Party General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong asked for resolute removal of corrupted officials from the Party and State bodies as he was presiding over the 16th meeting of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption on Friday.

The top leader also demanded greater efforts in combatting “petit” corruption at all levels.

In the second half of 2019, the Committee needs to focus on directing inferior levels to finalize inspection results of the expansion project of Ha Bac nitrate fertilizer plant, conduct specialized inspection of management and use of health insurance fund, purchase of medicines and medical equipment, examine management and use of investment capital at Binh Phuoc Ethanol Plant and Ninh Binh Nitrogen Plant, Trong stressed.

He also tasked the Committee to direct the completion of investigation into 28 cases as planned.

In the first half, local authorities commenced criminal proceedings against 176 cases involving 425 individuals, up 13.5% in terms of cases and 32.8% in terms of the number of defendants.

Party and inspection committees at all levels took disciplinary measures on 123 Party organizations and 7,923 Party members.

One Party organization and 13 Party members under direct management of the Politburo and Secretariat were disciplined in the first half.

Since the beginning of the 12th Party Central Committee, more than 70 cadres under the management of the Politburo and Secretariat have been punished.

Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption was established on February 1, 2013 and led by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The current Vice Chairmen of the Committee are Politburo member, Standing member of the CPVCC Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong; Secretary of the CPVCC and head of the CPVCC Commission for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac; Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh; CPVCC member and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu; Politburo member and Minister of Public Security To Lam.

Members of the Committee are: Politburo member, Secretary of the CPVCC and head of the CPVCC Commission for Organization Pham Minh Chinh; Politburo member, Secretary of the CPVCC and head of the CPVCC Commission for Information and Education Vo Van Thuong; Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, Secretary of the CPVCC, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army; Secretary of the CPVCC, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Hoa Binh; Member of the CPVCC, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy Le Minh Tri; member of the CPVCC Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Viet Nam Ho Duc Phoc; Secretary of the CPVCC, President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee  Tran Thanh Man; member of the CPVCC, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee and Chairwoman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Judicial Affairs Le Thi Nga; member of the CPVCC, Government Chief Inspector Le Minh Khai; and member of the CPVCC, permanent deputy head of the CPVCC Commission for Internal Affairs Vo Van Dung./.
