To implement the policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam (MOFA), of which the utmost priority is to protect the safety of life, property, and legitimate interests of Vietnamese nationals and legal entities in Ukraine, the Embassy has urgently focused on the protection of citizens evacuating from Ukraine to Poland.

On the night of March 2 and early morning of March 3, a team led by Ambassador Nguyen Hung went directly to two border crossings between Poland and Ukraine: Korczowa - KraKowets and Budomierz - Hruszow to pick up more than 100 Vietnamese nationals.

After that, more than 100 citizens boarded two big buses prepared by the Embassy and were taken to their temporary accommodation in Warsaw.

On that very late night, the team returned to Warsaw to coordinate with the Vietnamese Association in Poland to prepare temporary accommodation and food for the people.

The team visited the Vietnam Buddhist Center (commonly known as Nhan Hoa Pagoda) - a place to initially receive and support citizens before they move to another accommodation.

There are still many Vietnamese at the Ukrainian border gates waiting to be allowed to enter Poland. In the coming days, the Embassy will continue to send officials to several border gates of Ukraine-Poland to set up checkpoints and directly implement support measures.

On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Community in Europe in general, in Ukraine and Poland in particular, for always showing their spirit of mutual affection, helping each other to overcome all difficulties, both during the epidemic period and the current period of conflict in Ukraine.
