Generali Vietnam Life Insurance LLC ( “Generali Vietnam”) collaborated with The National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) and Bac Ninh Department of Labor – Invalids & Social Affairs to organize a “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” (Born Children, Born Parents) workshop in Bac Ninh province. This was the first “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” workshop of the Golden Ox year, with the participation of more than 300 parents, children, staff and teachers of Giang Son kindergarten, Giang Son commune, Gia Binh district, Bac Ninh province.

The event was graced by Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Labor – Invalids & Social Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Cong Thang – Member of Bac Ninh Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of Bac Ninh Provincial Commission for Mass Mobilization; Mr. Ngo Tan Phuong – Member of Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Le Tuyet Mai – Deputy Director of the NFVC; and other provincial and local government officials.

The “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” workshop facilitated discussion on three important parenting topics: making plans to spend quality time with children; controlling parenting anger and minimizing domestic tensions to avoid hurting the children; and establishing healthy eating routines with nutritious and enjoyable meals for the children. These topical topics fall under the program’s three main content groups of intelligence, behaviors and health of children aged 0 – 6 years.

At the event, Generali Vietnam handed 150 gift sets to all participating children, 150 program booklets to their parents, as well as 30 special gifts in cash and in-kind to 30 needy families from the local communities. On this occasion, NFVC also gifted financial support to 100 underprivileged children of Gia Binh district, Bac Ninh province; whereas Bac Ninh Provincial Youth Union also granted 30 cash gifts to disadvantaged children of Giang Son kindergarten.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Labor – Invalids & Social Affairs, remarked: “We highly appreciate Generali’s active involvement in Vietnamese children’s development and protection through various initiatives including “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha”, a practical program that helps parents improve their parenting skills and knowledge in order to offer their children the best start in life, and thereby positively impacting their comprehensive development.”

In 2020, “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” benefited more than 2,000 parents and children aged 0 – 6 years via local workshops organized in various cities and provinces across Vietnam. The progam’s sitcom series has been successfully published on Generali Vietnam’s official Youtube channel garnering millions of views, interactions and positive comments. Both Generali and the NFVC aimed to bring the program to more places and benefit many more families with small children in 2021.

In recognition of Sinh Con, Sinh Cha’s innovative approach and sustainable impact on the development of Vietnamese children, Generali Vietnam has received organizational and individual commendations from the Minister of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs, recognizing outstanding contributions to Vietnamese children’s well-being and protection, and “Saigon Times CSR 2020” certification for outstanding community contributions.

“Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” is part of “The Human Safety Net”, a Generali Group’s global movement initiated in 2017. The Human Safety Net’s families program supports parents in the first six years of their children’s life to lay the strongest possible foundations for their future, contributing to early childhood development (ECD) in disadvantaged communities around the world.

In Vietnam, the local program is developed by the NFVC and Generali Vietnam, referencing UNICEF’s materials. The program aims to offer parents with children aged 0 – 6 years parenting knowledge, experience and skills to help children grow to their full potential in the love of the family. The program extends its reach to the community with practical and useful content via creative and interesting formats. In its first edition, the program focuses on three topics of health, behaviors and intelligence of children aged 0 – 6 years. The program will be delivered via an online sitcom series, in which Merited Artist Xuan Bac, NFVC’s Goodwill Ambassador, is involved in directing and acting; as well as local workshops organised in selected kindergartens across Vietnam. Program’s booklets and online sitcoms will be available free of charge while parents will enjoy free admissions to all parenting workshops
