The 15th plenum of the 12th Party Central Committee concluded on January 17 after finalizing all the contents of its agenda.

The 15th plenum is of special significance as it discusses and adopts the lists of first-time nominees and the special cases to the Committee of the coming 13th tenure, as well as that of the nominees to the key leading positions of the Party and the State, among others.

In his closing remarks, Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong says the Party Central Committee discuss personnel matters in a democratic, frank, responsible manner and vote to adopt personnel plan with the high number of votes. 

The current Committee has weathered all the difficulties and finalized the working agenda, leading the whole Party, people and army to very important achievements, thus creating new trust and added impetus to bring the country into a new development period, Trong says.

The Committee approves reports by the Political Bureau on the nominees to the presidium, the secretariat and the eligibility verification board on the delegates of the coming 13th Congress. 

Secretary General and State President Nguyen Phu Trong emphasizes that the 15th plenum of the Party Central Conference conclude in great success, with preparatory work for the upcoming 13th National Party Congress being basically finalized as planned.

The 13th National Party Congress is an important political event that is capturing the major attention of Party members and people across the nation.

The top Vietnamese leader urges the Committee members to continue bringing into play their sense of solidarity and responsibility in completing the remaining work to ensure the great success of the forthcoming Congress, thereby meeting the expectation and hope of the whole Party and people.
