The potential expansion was revealed by Andy Lin, vice chairman of Cooler Master, at a meeting with authorities in Bac Ninh province on Tuesday.
Cooler Master’s Vietnamese unit, Cooler Master Vietnam Co. Ltd., first received its investment certificate from Bac Ninh in January 2023 and later increased its capital in December 2024.
Its project, which has total registered investment of $200 million, is located on a 10-hectare site at Gia Binh Industrial Park and manufactures cooling modules for artificial intelligence servers, machine learning systems, and precision liquid-cooling cabinets used in data centers.
The first phase of the project began production in July 2025 and currently employs nearly 1,300 workers. By 2026, the company expects its labor demand to rise to about 5,000 employees.
Cooler Master is now exploring plans to lease about 100 hectares of additional land in the same industrial park to expand manufacturing and attract suppliers and partners to invest alongside the company, helping establish a more stable global supply chain network, the executive said.
The firm is also considering building residential housing for workers as well as dedicated accommodation for employees and specialists. It also plans to invest in talent training programs aimed at developing a workforce that could support the company’s global operations.
If approved, the broader expansion plan could lift Cooler Master’s total investment in Bac Ninh to around $3 billion and create roughly 40,000 local jobs by 2029, Andy Lin estimated.
During the meeting, Lin asked provincial authorities to consider tax incentives, favorable land leasing terms, and support with administrative procedures related to the construction of training centers and residential facilities.
Pham Hoang Son, Chairman of the Bac Ninh People’s Committee, said the province would apply tax incentives and exemptions in line with government regulations if the project meets required criteria.
Regarding land leasing prices, Son suggested that Hanaka Group, the developer of Gia Binh Industrial Park, work with Cooler Master to negotiate a reasonable rate.
The province also pledged support for the company’s proposed research and training centers.
Bac Ninh is currently implementing policies to provide direct support to students and instructors involved in workforce training programs related to high-tech industries. Local authorities also encouraged the company to accelerate plans to build worker dormitories and develop a detailed roadmap for each phase of the investment.
Last July, Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces were merged into the current Bac Ninh, which is home to the under-construction Gia Binh International Airport.
