The project is located at the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park and has a total investment of nearly VND2 trillion ($76.16 million). It will be deployed in multiple phases, targeting full operational capacity between 2027 and 2028.
"This landmark project marks a pivotal step in realizing our strategic evolution from Vietnam’s leading national home appliance brand into an international-standard smart manufacturing and technology corporation," the company stated in a release.
For Sunhouse, a leading Vietnamese home appliance manufacturer, "smart appliances extend far beyond mere connected devices; they represent an ecosystem of products and services designed to make family life more convenient, safe, and healthy".
Moving forward, the company said it would continue to invest heavily in research, manufacturing, and new technology integration, step-by-step elevating the role of Vietnamese enterprises in the global supply chain.
A smart manufacturing foundation driven by 2 specialized divisions
To realize its long-term vision of heavy investment in R&D and smart home appliance manufacturing, Sunhouse has designed the AI & Smart Appliances Innovation Hub around two specialized, complementary divisions that complete the technology value chain.
The first division focuses on research, development and manufacturing of high-tech electronic modules and equipment. Spanning nearly 73,000 square meters, this facility is engineered for an annual production capacity of 13 million electronic modules and 1.5 million high-tech electronic devices.
The second division features a pioneering smart home appliance facility with a focus on autonomous robotics and smart devices. Covering nearly 2.5 hectares with a 60,000-square-meter construction footprint, this division targets an annual capacity of 104,000 autonomous robots and 2 million smart devices.
The project aims to meet top international standards, establishing itself as one of Southeast Asia's leading modern factories. It pioneers the application of ESG standards while serving as an experiential space to welcome and connect with domestic and international partners and investors.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Le Thanh Son, deputy head of the Management Board of the Hanoi High-Tech Parks and Industrial Zones, said: "A nation's competitive advantage is measured not just by its production scale, but more importantly, by its capacity for research, innovation and technological mastery. We highly appreciate Sunhouse's decision to invest in the AI & Smart Appliances Innovation Hub at the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park. This is not just a corporate expansion project; it drives innovation and enhances the technological sovereignty of Vietnamese enterprises."
A launchpad elevating Vietnam’s position in global value chain
Beyond being a flagship project for Sunhouse’s corporate strategy, the hub is anticipated to contribute significantly to the development of the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park. It will generate high-quality employment opportunities for engineers, tech experts, and specialized operational personnel in the smart manufacturing sector.
In an era where global value chains demand stringent technological capabilities, strict manufacturing standards and rapid innovation to ensure smart manufacturing are vital for Vietnamese businesses to integrate deeply into the international market.
Sunhouse’s project enhances Vietnam's high-tech industrial capacity while generating substantial economic value through manufacturing, exports and national budget contributions.
