The decision clearly states that the investor is Sun Phu Quoc Airways Co., Ltd.,, part of Sun Group.
The goal is to establish a new airline for regular passengers and charter services to tourist islands and bustling financial and commercial centres.
The approval of Sun PhuQuoc Airways is an important milestone for Vietnam's aviation industry and the development of Phu Quoc tourism.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways is expected to launch its first flight in the fourth quarter of 2025, connecting Phu Quoc with key economic and tourism centres at home and abroad.
Along with Sun PhuQuoc Airways, Sun Group operates Sun Air, providing personalised and specialised private jet services for luxury customers.
At present, Vietnam has five major airlines, namely Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific, Bamboo Airways, and Vietravel Airlines.
