The development, to be implemented in two phases from 2025 to 2031, aims to create a network of modern piers, vessels, and riverfront attractions to diversify Danang’s tourism offerings and ease road congestion.
Under the first phase (2025-2030), Ha Long Sun Co., Ltd. will construct eight piers along the Han River between the Thuan Phuoc and Tien Son bridges. The works will include connecting roads, parking areas, ticket offices, waiting halls, and landscaped parks.
The company also plans to launch sightseeing boat services, stage lighting displays, and river performances to enhance the city’s nighttime tourism appeal.
Phase two (2028-2031) will see the addition of eight more piers along the Vinh Dien and Co Co rivers and four along the Cam Le River, together with supporting green spaces and infrastructure.
The project will operate under a 50-year concession. Local authorities said the new waterway system will strengthen the city’s tourism infrastructure and stimulate local economic activity.
Established in 2014 and headquartered in Ha Long ward, northern Vietnam, Ha Long Sun Co., Ltd. is the developer of the Sun World Halong entertainment complex, a flagship project of Sun Group.
The Danang project underscores Sun Group’s strategy to expand its infrastructure-led tourism ecosystem across Vietnam’s key coastal and economic hubs.
In June, the former Quang Nam province was merged with Danang into the new Danang city. In the first nine months of 2025, Danang welcomed over 14.4 million tourists, up 22% year-on-year, including 5.8 million international visitors, up 31%, according to the local tourism watchdog.
