Congalsa acquired 100% of the charter capital of Lenger Seafoods Vietnam (LSV), including its seafood processing facility in the former Nam Dinh province, now part of the northern province of Ninh Binh. The transaction value was not disclosed.
The acquisition gives Congalsa direct and fully traceable access to Meretrix clam supplies and processing capacity in Vietnam, complementing its manufacturing base in Galicia and its distribution position in southern European retail and foodservice markets.
Lenger Seafoods Vietnam is one of the leading exporters of Meretrix clams in Vietnam. It has operated since 2012 from a five-hectare facility in Ninh Binh. Its production system includes depuration, IQF nitrogen freezing, and X-ray inspection across three processing lines.
LSV sources seafood from more than 20 suppliers certified by Vietnam's National Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQPM) and holds ASC, MSC, and IFS certifications.
The company serves more than 50 business customers across more than 10 export markets, with Spain, Italy and Portugal among its main destinations.
LSV has previously disclosed processing capacity of up to 300 tons of raw clams a day. In 2019, the company invested about $2 million in additional processing lines for clam meat and canned clams.
Lenger Seafoods Vietnam generates more than €16 million ($18.8 million) in annual revenue and employs more than 200 people, according to information released in connection with the acquisition.
Congalsa said the Vietnamese facility will continue to focus on high-quality seafood exports to Europe, Asia, and North America.
