Supporting nearly $19,000 in treatment costs for paediatric leukemia patients

On September 15, Shinhan Life Vietnam donated more than $6,300 in treatment costs to pediatric leukemia patients in difficult circumstances at Ho Chi Minh City Children's Hospital.

Additionally, over 120 gifts were presented to paediatric hematology clinical patients to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival. This is the second consecutive year the company has sponsored treatment costs for paediatric leukemia patients, with a total sponsorship approximating $19,000.

Thirty families of paediatric leukemia patients with difficult circumstances have received timely support to continue their battle against the disease.

Directly visiting and giving gifts to these children, Bae Seung Jun, general director of Shinhan Life Vietnam, expressed his heartfelt sentiments.

Jun noted that one of Shinhan Life Vietnam's priorities is to enhance social responsibility and spread love through community activities, and that he expects the company's financial support to boost the spirits and strength of these children and their families, helping them to overcome illness and return to normal life.

In addition to sponsoring medical treatment costs, Shinhan Life provides warm care to paediatric patients and their families through practical sharing programmes on holidays.

The company's Board of Directors and employees visited and distributed 1,300 lunches and 200 gifts to the families of paediatric patients receiving treatment at Ho Chi Minh City Children's Hospital 2 on International Children's Day on June 1.

Hand-delivering meals to the families of patients, Bae Seung Jun expressed his hope that programmes like these would spread widely, allowing young patients facing illnesses to live in an atmosphere of love and community sharing.

Alongside the programme supporting paediatric patients, Shinhan Life continues to provide more than 50,000 free “Shinhan - An Binh” packages of blood cancer insurance to protect the future of children with a simple online registration process.

Providing development opportunities for underprivileged adolescents

In an effort to contribute to the sustainable development of future generations, Shinhan Life general director mentioned that the company is not only limited to supporting basic needs but also implementing long-term programmes to help underprivileged adolescents develop comprehensively, take control of their lives, and become valuable citizens.

This motivation has led the Korean insurer to collaborate with BNJ Vietnam to launch the iLead education programme for adolescents at SOS Children's Villages in Vietnam.

Under the programme, adolescents participate in iLead to learn and explore the values and qualities that they can apply to their personal development. Moreover, Shinhan Life provides opportunities for skill training, internships, and future employment for those with the desire and appropriate capacity.

The project is being implemented until 2025 at SOS Children's Villages in Hanoi, Danang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
