The Governor of Narathiwat, Ekkarat Leesen, visited a royally-initiated model farm project, aimed at helping people affected by COVID-19.

On May 24, the Narathiwat Governor visited the model farm project, royally-initiated by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother. He was welcomed by the Commander of the 151st Infantry Regiment, the Sungai Padi District Chief and the Commander of the 48th Ranger Regiment Task Force.
His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajarasudhabimalakshana have directed relevant units to carry out activities in accordance with the New Theory of Farming, to generate jobs and income for local people affected by the spread of COVID-19.
The participants also learn about the New Theory of Farming, which can be applied to their work, helping them to generate sustainable revenue.
The model farm project in the southern border province occupies some 1.6 hectares of land, and the work to prepare areas for farming is now 41% complete.
Here, the participants plant vegetables and trees and raise chickens, using natural agricultural methods. They also learn about living sufficiently, while producing and sharing clean food with others. The project aims to develop communities into social enterprises. It currently has 30 participants.
