Nearly 180 Vietnamese citizens, mainly Vietnamese employees with expired contracts of Lilama Company and others in especially difficult circumstances were repatriated home safely on October 11 from Brunei onboard a Vietjet Air flight.
The flight is part of efforts by Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei, Lilama Company, Vietjet Air in coordination with the competent agencies of the host nation.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei sent staff to assist the citizens with necessary procedures ahead of their departure.
VietJet Air carried out necessary epidemiological measures during the flight to prevent possible spread of the virus.
All passengers were also examined and quarantined according to regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control as soon as the plane touched down at Can Tho International Airport in southern Vietnam.
More repatriation flights will be conducted by Vietnamese competent agencies to bring home more Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas in line with the domestic epidemic situation and isolation capacity in the nation.
