With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 26,502 VND/USD, and the floor rate 23,978 VND/USD.

At 8:15 am, the opening-hour rates at major commercial banks also saw decreases.

Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 26,142 VND/USD and the selling rate at 26,502 VND/USD, both down 29 VND from the August 28 morning session.

Meanwhile, BIDV cut the buying rate by only 1 VND, listing at 26,170 VND/USD and the selling rate by 29 VND, posting at 26,502 VND/USD.
