VOV.VN - The Quang Nam Heritage Festival Trade Fair 2019 opened on September 5 in the ancient town of Hoi An as part of activities to implement the National Trade Promotion Program as approved by the Minister of Industry and Trade.

Domestic and foreign enterprises showcased their products across 300 booths in a variety of sectors. 

Industries on display at the event include ago-forestry-fishery, processed food, garment, fashion, electronics, industrial machinery and equipment, information technology, fine arts and handicrafts, consumer goods, tourism and commercial services, interior and exterior decoration and construction materials, an beverage and cuisine.

The fair aims to promote the image of Quang Nam’s traditional villages in both domestic and international markets and economic ties between import-export businesses and traditional rural craft villages, boost trade promotion activities, and seek additional customers. 

 In addition, the trade show will also serve to raise public awareness about preserving and promoting traditional values, enhancing competitiveness within the context of international economic integration, creating optimal conditions for market expansion as well as developing consumption networks in Quang Nam and other provinces throughout the central and central-highlands regions.

Upon addressing the opening ceremony, Nguyen Quang Thu, director of the Quang Nam Department of Industry and Trade, expressed hope that the event will promote the region as an attractive destination for both residents and foreign arrivals in the near future, thus helping spur local economic growth and support businesses in developing their brands and improving their competitive capacity.

The fair running until September 11, is being held as part of a number of activities marking the 20th anniversary of UNESCO’s recognition of Hoi An as a World Heritage Site.
