These projects included My Thuan 2 Bridge in Tien Giang province; Can Tho-Hau Giang expressway construction project - a section of the eastern North-South Expressway and resettlement area in Cai Rang district, Can Tho city.

During the third time visiting the construction site of My Thuan 2 Bridge, Prime Minister Pham urged constructors to speed up work, ensure the quality of the project and labour safety, and pay proper care to workers’ living conditions.

My Thuan 2 Bridge crosses the Tien River and connects the Trung Luong-My Thuan and My Thuan-Can Tho expressways between HCM City and Can Tho. The project has a total investment of over VND 5 trillion (US$ 213.22 million).

The construction of the 6.61-km bridge started in March 2020 and is expected to complete in 2023. So far, 70.73 percent of the work has been completed.

At the construction site of a section of the eastern North-South Expressway, the Government chief hailed workers for working  through the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.

He asked relevant ministries, agencies, and localities actively coordinate in site clearance work.

Mr. Pham also highlighted the importance of infrastructure development for regional growth.  

The same day, Pham also visited the resettlement area in Cai Rang district, Can Tho city. The 10.8-ha area is now home to households who moved to make room for the construction of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway that forms part of the eastern North-South expressway project.

The Government chief tasked local authorities to ensure proper livelihoods and living conditions for the people in the resettlement area.
