The launching ceremony to mark the opening of a press centre specifically for the 13th National Party Congress is set to be held on January 22 at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi as part of major activities in the buildup to the event. 

Le Manh Hung, vice chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, said all facilities for the debut of the centre have already been completed, while expressing hope that both foreign and domestic reporters will raise core issues that prove to be of interest to local citizens and the entire society via in-depth articles.

Ahead of the 13th National Party Congress, the press centre has drawn up specific schemes and scenarios in which to facilitate the activities of reporters, while also creating the best technical conditions in terms of technologies, internet and equipment in order to help them cover the event in the most effective manner.

Apart from inviting foreign reporters to the press conference via the online platform, the organising board has also encouraged reporters in regions such as Asia, Africa, along with North and South America and other regions, to register online to cover the event, he added.

Nearly 500 domestic reporters and technicians, and more than 60 resident correspondents, editors and technicians of foreign news agencies have registered to work at the press centre. More than 60 others will cover the congress online.

All reporters present at the centre will undergo COVID-19 testing, at the request of organisers.
