Mr. Pham Van Thieu, Chairman of the Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee, addresses the press conference on the Vietnam Salt Festival - Bac Lieu 2025

The event is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province. Approximately 100 booths are expected to showcase salt products, One Commune One Product (OCOP) items from enterprises, salt-based tourism products, and innovations in salt production, processing cooperatives and related technologies. The event will also feature conferences, seminars, and trade and investment promotion activities. Additional side events include workshops on "Orientation and Solutions for Developing Bac Lieu Salt Tourism Products," "Application of Science and Technology in Salt Production and Climate Change Adaptation," and the Bac Lieu Investment Promotion Conference 2025. Participants will have the opportunity to tour Bac Lieu's salt fields, enjoy "Going to Bac Lieu to Listen to Traditional Music" activities, and participate in a painting and photography contest focused on salt production.

In order to ensure the event takes place on schedule, the Chairman of the Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee issued Plan 206/KH-UBND dated December 26, 2024, assigning specific tasks to departments, branches, sectors, organizations and localities. Activities within the framework of the Vietnam Salt Festival – Bac Lieu 2025 must be carefully prepared, creating a good impression for people and tourists, making practical contributions to the economic, cultural and social development of the province.

Products to be introduced and displayed must be OCOP-certified, representing typical, exemplary items that guarantee quality and affirm their brand and market reputation. The event will be organized with attention to detail, ensuring safety, sustainability and cost-efficiency. Additionally, efforts will be made to secure support and sponsorship from organizations and individuals to enhance the program’s activities.

Additionally, the event provides an opportunity for Bac Lieu to showcase its salt industry to international partners, encouraging global investment and attracting domestic enterprises interested in salt production, processing, and consumption. It also facilitates a platform for salt farmers, scientists, and domestic and international businesses to meet, exchange ideas, and access cutting-edge techniques and technologies in salt production. Most importantly, the event enhances the value of salt, contributing to the prosperity of salt farmers and supporting their success in the industry," said Mr. Pham Van Thieu.
