Mr. Tran Huu Linh, Director General of the Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development, speaks at the working session with the high-level Polish delegation

From Distributors to Vietnamese Suppliers

On September 7 in Hanoi, a delegation of Polish businesses led by Bartosz Komosa, Chairman of the Asian Business Forum Association, worked with the Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development to seek distribution partners, Vietnamese suppliers and cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese businesses.

The business-matching activity was organized to address specific business needs. Rather than simply providing an overview of the market, Polish businesses presented specific product groups for which they were seeking partners, while Vietnamese businesses introduced their production capabilities, products and ability to meet demand.

One of the key needs at the business-matching session was to find distribution partners for Polish beverages and confectionery products in the Vietnamese market. JNT Group, a business with revenue of about PLN500 million (US$134.85 million), is seeking distributors in Vietnam for Cava wine and Polish alcoholic beverages. The company owns the third-largest Cava sparkling wine production facility in Spain and is also one of Poland’s major businesses in wine and alcoholic beverage production and trading. Meanwhile, MAJAMI, part of Sweet House, a business engaged in confectionery production and trading, is also seeking distributors for Polish confectionery products in Vietnam.

Notably, trade flows are not limited to one direction from Poland to Vietnam. Businesses in the delegation are also proactively seeking supplies from Vietnam, particularly in sectors where Vietnam has production advantages and can meet emerging consumer trends. GABONA, a business engaged in the distribution and wholesale of professional cosmetics, hair care products, makeup and beauty accessories, is interested in finding Vietnamese manufacturers capable of producing vegan and natural cosmetics.

In addition, the Polish business delegation expressed interest in finding Vietnamese suppliers of freeze-dried fruit. This product group offers cooperation opportunities as Vietnamese businesses increasingly focus on deeper processing, adding value to agricultural products and developing products suited to international consumer preferences.

These specific needs show that Polish businesses view Vietnam not only as a consumer market but also as a potential source of goods within the value chain, particularly for product groups with advantages in raw materials, production and brand development.

Creating More Opportunities for Vietnamese Businesses

In response to the needs of the Polish business delegation, the Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development directly connected the delegation with Vietnamese businesses in the relevant sectors.

Participating Vietnamese businesses included Huy Phong Joint Stock Company, Ngoc Thanh General Trading Co., Ltd. and Tan Truong Thanh Trading Co., Ltd. in wine and beverages, as well as ONA Global Natural and Organic Products Joint Stock Company, Hanoi Xanh Cooperative, Beaufirst Global Co., Ltd., and Visantee in cosmetics.

At the working session, businesses from both sides directly discussed products, supply capabilities, market demand and distribution opportunities. This approach helps narrow the gap between partner searches and businesses’ actual supply capabilities.

For Vietnamese businesses, the opportunity lies not only in accessing the Polish market but also in potentially expanding into the wider EU market if they meet requirements for quality, standards, product documentation and supply capabilities.

Notably, before the business-matching session, the Polish delegation worked with the Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development to learn about the Vietnamese goods market, market development policies and cooperation opportunities between businesses from the two countries.

Representatives of TikTok Vietnam also discussed with the delegation sales policies for foreign-invested businesses on the e-commerce platform, focusing on TikTok Shop and the requirements and conditions for businesses operating in Vietnam.

The inclusion of e-commerce in the discussions shows that international businesses are adopting increasingly diverse approaches to market access. Alongside traditional distribution channels, digital platforms can help businesses test markets, reach consumers and gradually build distribution networks.

According to Tran Huu Linh, Director General of the Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development, direct connections allow businesses from both sides to discuss product demand, cooperation capabilities and approaches to each other’s markets in greater detail. Businesses from the two countries have established direct connections by product group, with the parties expected to continue discussions in greater depth on individual partners, products and specific market requirements.
