During an online working session on August 13 with officials from Ha Tinh and Nghe An provinces regarding the Quang Trach-Pho Noi section, the PM emphasised the urgency of the project.

Spanning 514km from Quang Trach (Quang Binh province) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen province), the project is divided into four components, with a total investment of nearly $1 billion. Construction commenced late last year.

PM Chinh highlighted the importance of the project, noting that it will have a transmission capacity of around 2,400MW, significantly enhancing the electricity supply for northern Vietnam in 2025.

He urged all relevant agencies and local authorities to "remain resolute and intensify efforts during this critical final phase" to ensure the project's completion by September 2, aligning with its planned inauguration on the National Day.

According to reports from Vietnam Electricity (EVN), the project has made considerable progress, with all foundation sites and corridor areas handed over. Key materials and equipment, including steel poles, conductors, insulators, and accessories, have been delivered to contractors. As of now, all of the foundations have been cast, 98.5 per cent of the poles erected, and 62.5 per cent of the wiring completed.

EVN chairman Dang Hoang An reported that the company is on track to energise the entire project by August 25.

The Nam Dinh 1 - Thanh Hoa section was successfully energised on June 30, and the remaining three segments are being prioritised for completion. The Nam Dinh I-Pho Noi and Quynh Luu-Thanh Hoa sections are expected to be energised by August 19, with the Quang Trach-Quynh Luu section targeted for energisation by August 31.

To ensure the project meets its deadline, PM Chinh instructed all involved parties to meticulously review assignments and work continuously in suitable shifts.

He specifically tasked the Ministry of Industry and Trade with regular inspections, oversight, and timely issue resolution. The Ministry of Defence was directed to mobilise military regions 3 and 4 to provide EVN with necessary equipment, machinery, and manpower.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was instructed to guide the conversion of forest land use, while the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was tasked with providing environmental guidance to ensure proper restoration upon project completion.

Additionally, the Ministry of Home Affairs, alongside other authorities, was directed to propose appropriate rewards for all levels of participants involved in the project.
