Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has become head of the Government Steering Committee on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06.
Project 06 is a project on developing resident data, electronic identification and authentication applications to serve national digital transformation in the 2022-2025 period, with a vision to 2030
The committee serves as an inter-agency coordinating body tasked with advising the government and the prime minister on major, cross-sector issues related to national strategies, policies and programs in science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, administrative reform and Project 06.
It will research and recommend policy directions, review key strategies and projects, and oversee implementation across ministries, sectors and localities. The body is also responsible for coordinating inter-sectoral programs, monitoring progress, conducting reviews, and proposing adjustments when necessary.
In addition, the committee will supervise the rollout of the Government’s action plan to implement Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
