Muong Long Commune in central Nghe An Province is welcoming Tet blanketed in plum blossoms. 

Plum blossom is a common subject used in traditional paintings and poetry across Vietnam because of its beauty. Plum blossoms usually bloom around late winter and early spring, in January and February. It is regarded as a seasonal symbol in Vietnam. This flower can be found in forests, besides streams and along mountain slopes.

Plum blossoms are blooming by the homes of ethnic H'mong in Muong Long Commune of Ky Son District. Muong Long has an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level and is considered the “sky gate” of Nghe An. In winter, the temperature here is much lower than in urban areas.

Tet, or Lunar New Year, Vietnam's biggest holiday, peaks on Friday this week.

Plum blossoms often bloom in many layers and last through the Lunar New Year holiday. When these flowers fall, the trees will bear the fruit.
