According to the Hai Phong Customs Department, the entire department ensured a joyful, healthy, and safe Tet holiday while strictly adhering to traffic safety regulations and combating social vices.
Notably, various units arranged for officials and public employees to be on duty during the Tet holiday to promptly handle and resolve any arising tasks or situations with a serious and dedicated work ethic, embodying the spirit of "enjoying the new spring without forgetting duties."
Specifically, the Hai Phong Customs Department processed 1,547 import-export declarations with a total value of US$150.9 million. Among these, 1,196 declarations were cleared, and the collected tax revenue reached VND 31.1 billion.
Hai Phong Customs Department supervised 154 ship calls, including 75 inbound vessels and 79 outbound vessels, along with 3,600 crew member entries and exits. They also carried out entry and exit procedures for 22 aircraft at Cat Bi International Airport.
Regarding the tasks for 2025, Mr. Tran Manh Cuong, Director of Hai Phong Customs Department, urged all officials, public employees, and workers to strive for excellence and unity to successfully achieve the assigned targets and tasks. He emphasized building a new Hai Phong Customs Department apparatus that is "streamlined, efficient, effective, and impactful," contributing to the overall development of the sector, the locality, and the nation.
In 2024, the total import-export value of goods processed by the entire department reached over US$132 billion, an increase of 18.8% compared to 2023.
Of this, exports reached nearly US$67 billion, up 18.6%, with taxable export value reaching US$ 402.93 million. Imports reached over US$ 65 billion, up 18.9%, with taxable import value reaching US$ 24.86 billion.
Notable imported goods included: automobiles of all kinds reaching US$ 1.22 billion, up 31%; auto parts and components reaching US$ 478.84 million, up 28.1%; motorbike parts and components reaching US$ 22.83 million, up 6.8%; and iron and steel reaching nearly US$ 4.37 billion, up 24.2%.
