Many areas situated in the north of the country, including the capital Hanoi, are set to face the arrival of two consecutive periods of cold weather which are forecast to hit the region from March 14 to 19.

The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting believe that several localities located in the north will be forced to endure drizzly conditions that will beginning from the evening of March 14. 

This period of light rain will last for a total of two days before sunny conditions return once more on March 16.

The second cold spell will follow from March 17 to 19 with mountainous areas such as the provinces of Dien Bien and Lai Chau expected to see a drop in temperatures, with conditions becoming particularly cold at night and early in the morning.

The centre of the nation between the provinces of Thanh Hoa and Thua Thien-Hue will endure rainy spells from March 14 to 18 with residents warned of possible tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds. The rainfall will begin to recede on March 19, being replaced by sunny spells. 

Elsewhere, both the Central Highlands and southern provinces are expected to enjoy a period of hot weather from March 14 to 19.

Areas situated between Da Nang and Binh Thuan provinces are forecast to see sunny spells during the day, whilst the evenings will bring some light rain.

In addition, the Central Highlands region is forecast to face spells of both sunny and dry weather, with a similar picture forming in the southern region.
