In order to implement the document No 937 which was put forward by the Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance in an attempt to intensify inspections and deal with violations regarding the trade and consumption of crayfish, 24 market management teams across HCM City have been inspecting the trade and transportation of the species in districts throughout the region. 

The HCM City Market Management Department have been working in collaboration with the police, inspection teams, and other relevant units in a bid to tighten management at markets and to detect cases involving the trade, storage, and transportation of crayfish in a timely manner. 

The department has asked relevant agencies to further reinforce inspections and supervision of key transport routes, wholesale and traditional markets, seafood stores, residential areas, and industrial frozen stores in 24 districts across the city. 

As of May 22, market management forces in HCM City have yet to record any cases of the trade or transportation of crayfish. 

Nguyen Van Bach, the acting head of the HCM City Market Management Department, has requested market management teams tighten their inspections of supermarkets, restaurants, and hotels which are the most likely locations where the storage and selling of crayfish would take place. 

Market management teams have been urged to collaborate with relevant agencies to deal with any violations that occur.
