VOV.VN - Fresh outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) have been detected at 276 pig farming households across 17 districts in the central province of Nghe An, according to the provincial department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Until June 7, new ASF outbreaks have been discovered at three districts along National Highway 7 in Bong Khe commune, Con Cuong district, as well as in the communes of Pha Danh, Bao Nam, Bac Ly, Thuong Son, Ky Son district’s Keng Du, and Do Luong district’s Minh Son.
On the same day, Nghe An province declared the ASF epidemic in the communes of Thuong Son and Minh Son in Do Luong district.
Relevant agencies have culled all infected pigs in line with current regulations, sprayed disinfectants, and set up quarantine stations to prevent the further spread of ASF.
Alongside these actions, steps have been taken to raise public awareness regarding the preventive measures needed to combat the epidemic.
Hoang Nghia Hieu, director of the provincial department of Agriculture and Rural Department, warned residents to follow the bio-safety measures in breading activities and avoid transporting infected pigs out of the region.
Currently, a total of nearly 1,600 pigs have been culled throughout the locality.
