The Nexif Energy Khanh Hoa 1 wind power plant is planned to cover about 35.6 hectares in Ba Ngoi ward, Dong Khanh Son commune, and Cam An commune.
In 2024, the provincial Department of Planning and Investment, now the Department of Finance, signed a memorandum of understanding with Nexif Ratch Energy Group, through its Singapore-based entity Nexif Ratch Energy SE Asia Pte. Ltd., to coordinate and provide support for research, surveys and exploration of investment opportunities for the project.
The agreement aims to support the company in proposing a wind power plant with an installed capacity of about 102 MW and expected annual output of 312,500 MWh to supply clean energy to the national power grid. The project has an estimated investment cost of about VND3.2 trillion ($122.73 million).
The Singapore-headquartered Nexif Ratch Energy was established in December 2022, with Nexif Energy of Singapore holding a 51% stake and Thailand’s Ratch Group owning the remaining 49%.
The company acquires, develops, builds and operates clean energy projects across the Asia-Pacific region. Besides its Singapore headquarters, it has regional offices in the Philippines and Vietnam.
In Khanh Hoa, Nexif Ratch Energy SE Asia Pte. Ltd. operates the 49-MW Song Giang hydropower complex. It also runs the 30-MW Minh Luong hydropower plant in the northern province of Lao Cai.
Nexif Ratch Energy is continuing to expand its renewable energy portfolio in Vietnam. It is the investor behind a 143-MW wind power plant in the central province of Gia Lai, with total investment of more than VND5.7 trillion ($218.62 million), scheduled to break ground in November 2026.
The company is also developing the 80-MW Nexif Energy Ben Tre wind power plant in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long.
Eight wind and solar projects added to bidding list
On Thursday, the Khanh Hoa People’s Council for the 2026-2031 term approved a list of land plots to be auctioned for investor selection for eight wind and solar power projects.
According to a proposal from the provincial People’s Committee, the list comprises four wind power projects and four solar power ones with a combined planned capacity of nearly 822 MW and total land requirements of about 570 hectares.
Besides Nexif Energy Khanh Hoa 1, the list includes the 100-MW EEC Khanh Hoa wind power plant, with a temporary land requirement of nearly 35 hectares. The project is planned for Nam Cam Ranh and Cong Hai communes.
The 100-MW TDX Khanh Hoa 1 wind power plant requires more than 6.6 hectares of land on a temporary basis in Cam Lam commune. Most of the project will be located offshore, where the turbines will be installed. The onshore area will include a substation covering about 1.69 hectares and a grid connection line.
Another wind power project on the list is the 120-MW BIM wind power expansion phase 3, which requires about 42 hectares in Thuan Nam, Ca Na and Phuoc Dinh communes.
In the solar power segment, the 50-MW Hacom solar phase 2 project requires about 64 hectares in Thuan Nam commune, while the 49.9-MW Ninh Phuoc 1 solar power plant phase 2 requires about 44.62 hectares in Phuoc Hau commune.
The remaining two projects are the 50-MW Phuoc Ninh solar power expansion phase 2, which requires about 49.9 hectares in Thuan Nam commune, and the Dong Quan The solar power plant, with a designed capacity of 250 MW and a land requirement of about 292.214 hectares, also in Thuan Nam commune.
According to the provincial People’s Committee, the projects have been reviewed for compliance with Vietnam’s national power development plan for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 (PDP VIII), as well as the province’s master plan.
The former Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces were merged in July 2025 to form the new Khanh Hoa province, which borders Dak Lak, Lam Dong, and the East Sea.
