National Australia Bank (NAB), one of Australia’s largest private foreign investors in Vietnam, has opened its new innovation center in Hanoi.

This marks the bank’s second innovation facility in Vietnam, which is expected to reinforce Hanoi’s rising stature as a technology hub and support NAB’s commitment to nurturing local talents, the bank said in a statement on September 3.

Situated in a grade-A office of the Capital Place building at No. 29 Lieu Giai Street, the 2,500-square-meter center provides a dynamic environment for software developers, data scientists, digital designers and engineers.

Modeled after NAB’s global offices in Melbourne and Sydney, the Hanoi space is designed to foster creativity, collaboration and connection.

The Hanoi-based center also features training programs in cloud, software development, reliability engineering and emerging technologies like generative AI to develop the workforce.

Hanh Tran, General Director of the NAB Innovation Center Vietnam, said that the Hanoi hub would help the bank remain competitive in a fast-moving global market.

She said the NAB’s growth in Vietnam shows the strength of Vietnam’s digital workforce and reflects the deepening economic ties between the two countries under Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy and our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Since entering Vietnam in 2019, NAB has steadily expanded, now with operations in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
