Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ngo Van Ngon, Deputy Chief of the Office in charge of the Hanoi New Rural Development Coordination Office, highlighted Hanoi’s vast potential for agricultural development. With more than 197,000 hectares of land dedicated to agriculture, Hanoi ranks among the top localities in the country in terms of agricultural production scale. In addition, the city boasts over 1,350 craft villages, accounting for approximately 40% of Vietnam’s total.

Significantly, in 2025, two of Hanoi’s renowned craft villages — Van Phuc Silk in Ha Dong District and Bat Trang Ceramics — were officially recognized by the World Craft Council as members of the World Craft Creative Cities Network. These are the first Vietnamese craft villages to receive such international recognition. The city also plans to collaborate with the World Craft Council to continue surveying and nominating more craft villages for similar recognition in the near future.

Since 2019, Hanoi has evaluated and classified 3,317 OCOP (One Commune One Product) items, accounting for over 21% of the national total. These include 6 five-star products, 22 potential five-star products, and thousands of three- and four-star products. The city leads the country in the number of OCOP-certified goods.

According to Ngo Van Ngon, Deputy Head of the Office of the Hanoi City New Rural Development Program Coordination Office, the event was held at Dong Da District Cultural Park, a place with a large space, often attracting a large number of people and tourists to play and exercise, contributing to connecting and helping people access OCOP products, safe and quality products in the best way.

This year’s event features 50 booths showcasing more than 500 OCOP products and regional specialties from Hanoi and 20 other provinces and cities nationwide. Hanoi alone contributes 20 booths with over 100 OCOP products. The event not only promotes trade connections and market expansion but also provides consumers with direct access to safe, high-quality, and culturally rich products. The week will take place over 5 days, from May 21 to 25.
