A spring festival opened in the Mekong delta province of Can Tho on January 28, two weeks ahead of the Lunar New Year festival, known locally as Tet.

The event is held at the city’s museum to celebrate both the 13th National Party Congress and the annual Tet festival.

Various craft villages put their products on display during the festival.

A wide range of cultural activities are taking place, including cake making and cultural identity preservation.

Local people make Ka Tum cake, a delicacy which is famous nationwide.

Special corners are set up at the festival specifically for photo shoots. Photographed is a group of women wearing Ao Dai, the nation’s traditional dress.

The occasion offers guests the chance to wear ethnic costumes.

A show displaying various traditional costumes is also organised.

Various antique products can be seen on show.

Plenty of calligraphic artworks prove to be exciting for many visitors celebrating Tet.

A book bank can also be found.

The festival is scheduled to last through to February 1, but the calligraphic and book booths are set to close on February 16.

Throughout the event, locals follow novel coronavirus (COVID-19) prevention and control measures implemented by the Health Ministry.
