In a Wednesday statement, the company said it will establish Meiko Electronics Yen Quang in the northern province of Phu Tho, with incorporation scheduled for April 25.
The move is aimed at accommodating anticipated demand that could exceed the capacity of Meiko’s existing and under-construction facilities.
The new unit will add to Meiko’s expanding industrial footprint in the country. The firm has already built five factories producing and assembling printed circuit boards since its entry into Vietnam in 2006, underscoring its long-term commitment to the market.
Vietnam has emerged as a key node in Meiko’s global supply chain strategy. The company has earmarked total investment of about $1 billion in the country, reflecting its growing role as a manufacturing hub for high-value electronics components.
In July 2025, Meiko inaugurated the first phase of its Hoa Binh plant in Phu Tho, which borders Hanoi. The site, marking Meiko's fifth facility in Vietnam, will manufacture PCBs for iPhones, with mass production expected to begin in the 2027 fiscal year.
The company is also investing an additional $255 million to build another plant at Quang Minh Industrial Park near Hanoi, targeting advanced PCB products for Samsung smartphones, including next-generation devices integrating artificial intelligence capabilities.
Construction of the Quang Minh facility is slated to begin in 2026.
The expansion is expected to generate additional employment and contribute to the development of Vietnam’s electronics ecosystem, as the country pushed to climb the value chain in global manufacturing.
