At a working session on Thursday with city leaders, Tran Long Bien, the company’s legal director, said the project would span two locations.
The first site, located in Truong Xuan commune (formerly Thoi Lai district, Can Tho city), lies along the Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang Expressway, about 50 kilometers from the VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park.
Covering 547 ha, it would include a 381-ha service-commercial-urban zone and a 165-ha golf course.
The second site, in Tan Phuoc Hung commune (formerly Phung Hiep district, Hau Giang province), spans 220 ha and would feature a 100-ha service-commercial-urban complex and a 120-ha golf course.
The location is near National Highway 1, approximately 38 kilometers from downtown Can Tho.
The proposed development would also include a range of high-end amenities such as high-rise apartments, shophouses, villas, parks, hospitals, schools, and entertainment facilities.
According to the developer, the project aims to create a modern, green urban hub and a high-class resort and sports complex in the Mekong Delta, while generating employment, improving local livelihoods, and promoting sustainable socio-economic growth.
To move the project forward, the company requested that the Can Tho People’s Committee support a partial adjustment of the city’s master plan and approve the conversion of rice land within the proposed golf course area to meet investment approval requirements.
Chairman of the Can Tho People’s Committee Truong Canh Tuyen asked the company to work closely with the Department of Finance and other relevant agencies to complete necessary legal and planning procedures.
He also encouraged Vietnam Royal Investment Group JSC to explore additional investment opportunities in areas matching both the city’s strengths and the company’s ecosystem such as renewable energy, wind power, green agriculture, and real estate.
He reaffirmed that the Can Tho government is committed to supporting capable and experienced investors in implementing large-scale, sustainable projects in the city.
Can Tho city was merged with Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces in July to form the new Can Tho.
