A series of world-leading financial institutions and technology corporations have expressed their desire to expand their presence in Vietnam through the Vietnam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC). Notably, Qualcomm has officially submitted a Letter of Intent (LOI) to participate in the project.

According to the executive body of VIFC-HCMC, during the "Financial Roundtable" held on July 18, 2026, at Columbia University (New York, the US), numerous international financial institutions voiced their interest in developing international capital mobilization channels for the Vietnamese economy and seeking collaborative opportunities through the VIFC-HCMC framework.

The working session included a mix of enterprises that have invested in Vietnam for over 20 years and organizations exploring the market for the first time. Many representatives highly appraised Vietnam’s economic prospects and recent reforms, viewing VIFC-HCMC as a bridge to access the market.

Deutsche Bank, Germany’s largest lender and a leading global investment bank headquartered in Frankfurt, committed to expanding its investment banking operations in Vietnam. The bank plans to provide large-scale credit facilities to support various development projects.

Warburg Pincus, one of the world’s oldest and largest private equity firms based in New York, reaffirmed its desire to establish a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in Vietnam.

In the asset management sector, Morgan Stanley, a premier US investment bank, and Vanguard Global, a New York-based firm operating under a family office model, both expressed interest in wealth management and family office services within Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Haitong Securities, one of China’s largest securities firms headquartered in Shanghai, stated that it is actively developing capital-raising channels for Vietnamese enterprises and proposed fostering closer cooperation between stock exchanges.

The highlight of the session was the official handover ceremony of the Letter of Intent from Qualcomm Incorporated. As a Fortune 500 US tech giant, Qualcomm is a global leader in wireless technology and Edge AI (Artificial Intelligence).

Having maintained a presence in Vietnam for over two decades, Qualcomm recently reaffirmed its long-term commitment through new investments and the establishment of its third-largest global AI Research & Development Center in Vietnam. These initiatives aim to drive innovation, develop local human resources, and strengthen technological partnerships with Vietnamese entities.
