A delegation of the firm's subsidiary Luxshare-ICT (Vietnam) made the proposal at a Monday meeting with Bac Ninh authorities, headed by Secretary of Bac Ninh's Party Committee Nguyen Hong Thai.
Luxshare-ICT (Vietnam), a key supplier to Apple, has made three investments in Quang Chau, Van Trung, and Nam Son-Hap Linh industrial parks of Bac Ninh, totalling over $1.32 billion with 50,000 workers. The main products are components, parts, earphones, chargers for virtual reality (VR) items, watches, smartphones, among others.
The company said it plans to expand the investment in Nam Son-Hap Linh Industrial Park. However, this industrial park is unable to fulfill the demand of 100 hectares for the expansion. As a result, Luxshare-ICT seeks approval to relocate the project to Que Vo 2 Industrial Park (expansion), which is invested by local firm Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corp (HoSE: KBC).
The firm also asked provincial authorities to help with workforce recruitment and traffic, especially connectivity between industrial parks and roads.
In reply, Nguyen Hong Thai said Bac Ninh is willing to facilitate Luxshare-ICT's investments, by hosting recruitment events, for instance.
