A range of images snapped by four Vietnamese photographers have been named among the Top 50 pictures of the #BestPhotoOf2020 contest launched by Agora Images, with the group now set to progress to the final round of the competition. 

The winner of the photo contest is due to be announced on December 28 and will receive a cash prize of US$25,000. Named among the competition’s leading images is 'The shadows', an image taken on the small island of Hon Ba in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province by Vietnamese photographer @caokynhan.

A photo known as ‘Ao Dai’ by photographer @duysinh was captured in the central province of Quang Ngai. “In my photo, a Vietnamese girl is seen wearing an Ao Dai, the national dress of Vietnam, which is highly valued by Vietnamese women. I'd like to invite everyone to honour and show respect for the unique cultural traditions of each country and the role of women today,” the author said.

A photo titled 'Sedge Harvest' by local photographer @hoacarol depicts farmers as they harvest the sedge which they will later use in order to weave mats.

'Smile of Mom' by Vietnamese photographer @manhcuongvuong showcases an old person from the Raglai ethnic group in Khanh Hoa province as they cook.

Following are some of the photos to make the Top 50 of #BestPhotoOf2020. 'Color can affect people's emotions' by @agyemanduah of Ghana gives an insight into how colours affect people's emotions.

'El lago de los sueños' was shot by @andreamengo of Spain. “We wanted to represent the place where our dreams are created. We wanted to transmit a lot of peace, but above all a magical feeling,” the photographer explains.

'Winter in the city of Nur-Sultan' by @andrei_pugach of Russia

'Sacred soul' was captured by @asimijaz of Pakistan.

'Garbage disposal area' was taken by @cymot of Indonesia.

'Standing before giants' by @e.stis of Italy

'The gateway to another world' by @irinasigl of Germany
