Vietnamese architect Vo Trong Nghia and his colleagues bagged a silver medal in the environmental design category at the DFA Design for Asia Awards after their efforts to build an environmentally-friendly home in Ho Chi Minh City.

The DFA Design for Asia Awards is a prestigious regional award that ultimately aims to honour a range of outstanding designs from throughout the Asian region. The winners are therefore based on criteria such as having an excellent design, their potential impact in Asia, and commercial success.

"Stepping Park House" by Vo Trong Nghia Architects claims a silver medal in the environmental design category at the DFA Design for Asia Awards.

The building can be found situated in a new residential area of Ho Chi Minh City, with a park located on its northern side.

Architects made efforts to focus on designing a house which can become an extension of the environment by integrating the green of the park into the building’s interior space.

The house has been designed with the aim of creating an environment similar to a forest, despite being indoors.
