VOV.VN - Representatives of the Management Board of Ma Lu Thang Border Gate Economic Zone joined with border guards in Phong Tho district in the northern province of Lai Chau to present 10,000 medical masks and 1,000 handwash sanitisers to Chinese border guards at Kim Thuy Ha Border Gate in Yunnan province, China.

With the situation regarding the development of acute respiratory disease caused by a new strain of the coronavirus looking increasingly complicated, the market for medical masks in China has become extremely scarce.

The offering comes after China’s border guard forces made the request for support, mainly through providing additional medical equipment in order to effectively prevent and combat the spread of the epidemic.

Representative of Kim Thuy Ha Border Control Station expressed their hope that the border guards of both countries will be able to co-ordinate closely in the fight against the virus in the near future.

Previously, the People's Committees of Muong Te in Lai Chau province had also granted 11,000 medical masks to both border guard forces and residents in the districts of Luc Xuan and Kim Binh in China’s Yunnan province.
