Leading us on a tour in Hung Phu Commune, Tran Tuan Anh, Chairman of the commune’s People’s Committee, enthusiastically said: “The first commune Party Congress held at the end of last July established very specific and feasible goals and plans for the region to achieve strong transformation.”

Hung Phu today is truly vibrant with many large-scale investment projects creating qualitative changes, highlighted by three flagship developments: Hung Phu Industrial Park, Con Vanh Golf Course, and Ba Lat Liquid Cargo Port.

The Ba Lat Liquid Cargo Port project, invested by Phu Thanh Group Joint Stock Company, is implemented on an area of nearly 7 hectares with an investment capital of 278 billion VND (10.7 million USD). The project includes a specialised port capable of receiving ships of up to 3,000 tonnes, a liquid cargo storage system (petroleum, chemicals), along with modern transfer systems and high-tech pipelines directly connecting to the coastal road and key industrial zones.

Additionally, there is the Con Vanh Golf Course project invested by Hoang Huy Infrastructure and Urban Development Joint Stock Company with total capital of nearly 2.2 trillion VND (82.9 million USD), covering an area of nearly 110 hectares. The complex includes a 27-hole international standard golf course, two practice golf courses, a 4-star resort hotel, and 150 low-rise vacation villas.

Both projects commenced construction at the end of last June and are expected to be completed in the next few years, creating a breakthrough in socio-economic development in the area.

In May, the Hung Phu Industrial Park covering an area of over 200 hectares with total investment capital of over 2.3 trillion VND (88.5 million USD), developed by Geleximco Group, also held its groundbreaking ceremony. This location is oriented to become a multi-sector industrial park applying modern technology to attract key industries such as mechanical manufacturing and automobile assembly, and high-tech industries. Additionally, the industrial park also focuses on logistics warehouse services and high-end construction materials production to meet the growing market demand.

To provide land for this key industrial park, local authorities have organised a lightning-fast land clearance campaign. In Phase 1 (2024), 100 hectares were cleared, with over 200 billion VND (7.7 million USD) in support and compensation to 760 affected households. Phase 2 requires clearing 109 hectares of land, affecting 562 households.

Ba Lat estuary, where the Red River flows to the sea, has for generations formed Con Vanh land (Hung Phu Commune) with great potential for marine tourism and ecological tourism development. During boiling summer days, especially on weekends, this place records thousands of visitors coming to relax, and immerse themselves in waves of the sea. The open sea is also rich in fish and shrimp, providing a vast fishing ground for local livelihoods.

Dao Quoc Tuan, Secretary of Hung Phu Commune’s Party Committee, shared: “In the next five years, by promoting democracy and the strength of the political system, exploiting potential, advantages, resources, and human factors, we are determined to develop Hung Phu into a model commune for economic development.”
