The municipal leader expressed his hope that the Swiss diplomat will act as a bridge stepping up cooperation in economics, trade, investment, culture and tourism between the two nations as well as between Hanoi and Swiss localities.

Chung also assured the capital city’s willingness to work together with the Swiss Embassy in Vietnam on the organization of activities marking 50 years of bilateral diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Switzerland.

Sieber, for his part, highlighted the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2021 as an occasion for the two countries’ business communities to seek investment opportunities and propel Hanoi-Bern collaboration in politics, economics, and trade forward.
