At a reception in Hanoi on September 24 given by Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung, the Belarusian official noted that representatives of relevant agencies and businesses from both nations have regularly exchanged delegations in recent times and promoted co-operation for the purpose of mutual development. 

Import-export turnover between the two countries has increased significantly over the past year but has yet to reach its potential.

According to Lyashenko, his visit to Vietnam is being held to strengthen long-lasting relations as well as co-operation to build joint ventures that meet the needs of both sides, especially in the fields of manufacturing and assembling automotive products.

Relations between the two nations have reached several milestones, but could still go further, Hung told his guest.

Based on co-operation with the Belarusian capital Minsk, Hanoi is to foster relations with localities throughout Belarus, which enjoy advantages in the manufacturing industry, especially when it comes to products in the transport sector.

With Hanoi focusing on infrastructure development, the import and manufacturing of transport machinery and equipment will play a vital role, the municipal leader said,  adding that the two sides will also expand co-operation across a range of fields in the future.

He expressed his belief that the visit will serve to promote practical co-operation between Hanoi and Belarus in the time ahead while affirming that the capital city is committed to facilitating co-operation with Belarus for common development and prosperity of both nations.
